Moscow Investment Projects Website to Be Launched in 2012

A representative of the Moscow City Government External Economic and International Relations Department says the multi-language portal with information on all investment projects in Moscow is to be launched this year, according to RIA Novosti.

“The Department is developing the image of the capital as a developing International Financial Centre (IFC) to form an adequate perception of the city and its investment opportunities among the business community. The multi-language investment portal is developed as part of this effort to integrate all information on investment projects in the city of Moscow. The portal is planned to be launched this year,” said the Department’s representative.

In his words, the city authorities prepare webcasts and roadshow presentations on particular city investment projects for potential foreign investors; they are also building strong communication with the world’s leading business media.

“We are also planning to hold regular meetings with investors to keep them up to date on MIFC and the development of the city as an attractive investment platform,” he says.

The representative added that work is currently underway on a system that will monitor the perception of risk and investment potential of Moscow.

He noted that Moscow is #7 investor attractive city in Europe according to the British auditors Ernst & Young; and this rating is still growing.

Andrey Sharonov, the Deputy Mayor on Economy, previously stated that Moscow may enter the top 20 financial centers of the world within five years, by 2016.
